Behold, my servant will deal wisely. He will be exalted and lifted up, and will be very high.
Just as many were astonished at you (his appearance was marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men),
so he will cleanse many nations. Kings will shut their mouths at him: for they will see that which had not been told them; and they will understand that which they had not heard.
Who has believed our message? To whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed?
He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him.
Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth. As a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he didn’t open his mouth.
He was taken away by oppression and judgment; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living and stricken for the disobedience of my people?
They made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.
Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin, he will see his offspring. He will prolong his days, and Yahweh’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.
Therefore will I give him a portion with the great, and he will divide the plunder with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and was counted with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
“Hey! Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.
He will say, “Build up, build up, prepare the way! Remove the stumbling-block out of the way of my people.”
Behold, Yahweh’s hand is not shortened, that it can’t save; nor his ear dull, that it can’t hear.
He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor. Therefore his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness sustained him.
“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you.
The sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you; and all those who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet. They will call you Yahweh’s City, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
You will also drink the milk of the nations, and will nurse from royal breasts. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;
Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? Who this who is glorious in his clothing, marching in the greatness of his strength? “It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
Why is your clothing red, and your garments like him who treads in the wine vat?
I looked, and there was no one to help; and I wondered that there was no one to uphold: therefore my own arm brought salvation to me; and my own wrath upheld me.
For he said, “Surely, they are my people, children who will not deal falsely;” so he became their Savior.
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, “Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among them?”
Yahweh says, “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Don’t destroy it, for a blessing is in it:’ so will I do for my servants’ sake, that I may not destroy them all.
You hope of Israel, its Savior in the time of trouble, why should you be as a foreigner in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to stay for a night?
Why should you be like a scared man, as a mighty man who can’t save? Yet you, Yahweh, are in the middle of us, and we are called by your name. Don’t leave us.
“I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the hand of the terrible.”
Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved; for you are my praise.
Sing to Yahweh! Praise Yahweh, for he has delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evildoers.
I will set up shepherds over them, who will feed them. They will no longer be afraid or dismayed, neither will any be lacking,” says Yahweh.
In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. This is his name by which he will be called: Yahweh our righteousness.
“Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that they will no more say, ‘As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’
but they will serve Yahweh their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up to them.
Therefore don’t be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says Yahweh. Don’t be dismayed, Israel. For, behold, I will save you from afar, and save your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return, and will be quiet and at ease. No one will make him afraid.
Their prince will be one of them, and their ruler will proceed from among them. I will cause him to draw near, and he will approach to me; for who is he who has had boldness to approach to me?” says Yahweh.
For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.
Lord, you have pleaded the causes of my soul. You have redeemed my life.
“‘For thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.
As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so will I seek out my sheep. I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down,” says the Lord Yahweh.
Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said this to him: “I have found a man of the children of the captivity of Judah who will make known to the king the interpretation.”
But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and will save them by Yahweh their God, and will not save them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen.”
Afterward the children of Israel shall return, and seek Yahweh their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to Yahweh and to his blessings in the last days.
“When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
“Yet I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt; and you shall acknowledge no god but me, and besides me there is no savior.
It will happen that whoever will call on Yahweh’s name shall be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as Yahweh has said, and among the remnant, those whom Yahweh calls.
Saviors will go up on Mount Zion to judge the mountains of Esau, and the kingdom will be Yahweh’s.
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.
He shall stand, and shall shepherd in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God: and they will live, for then he will be great to the ends of the earth.
They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its gates. He will deliver us from the Assyrian, when he invades our land, and when he marches within our border.
But as for me, I will look to Yahweh. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.
He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, Judah! Perform your vows, for the wicked one will no more pass through you. He is utterly cut off.
You went out for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. You crushed the head of the land of wickedness. You stripped them head to foot. Selah.
The coast will be for the remnant of the house of Judah. They will find pasture. In the houses of Ashkelon, they will lie down in the evening, for Yahweh, their God, will visit them, and restore them.
Yahweh has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is among you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.
Yahweh, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.
Behold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you, and I will save those who are lame, and gather those who were driven away. I will give them praise and honor, whose shame has been in all the earth.
At that time will I bring you in, and at that time will I gather you; for I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes, says Yahweh.
‘Come, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.’
Hear now, Joshua the high priest, you and your fellows who sit before you; for they are men who are a sign: for, behold, I will bring out my servant, the Branch.
For, behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes: behold, I will engrave its engraving,’ says Yahweh of Armies, ‘and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
Yahweh of Armies says: “Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;
Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow will be cut off; and he will speak peace to the nations: and his dominion will be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
Yahweh their God will save them in that day as the flock of his people; for they are like the jewels of a crown, lifted on high over his land.
From him will come the cornerstone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together.
I will pour on David’s house, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for his firstborn.
“In that day there will be a spring opened to David’s house and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.
One will say to him, ‘What are these wounds between your arms?’ Then he will answer, ‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.’
“Awake, sword, against my shepherd, and against the man who is close to me,” says Yahweh of Armies. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
For your power stands not in multitude, nor your might in strong men: but you are a God of the afflicted. You are a helper of the oppressed, an upholder of the weak, a protector of the forlorn, a savior of those who are without hope.
For if the righteous man is God’s son, he will uphold him, And he will deliver him out of the hand of his adversaries.
Wisdom delivered a holy people and a blameless seed from a nation of oppressors.
For he that turned toward it was not saved because of that which was seen, But because of you, the Saviour of all.
Yes, and in this did you persuade our enemies, That you are he that delivers out of every evil.
For like horses they roamed at large, And they skipped about like lambs, Praising you, O Lord, who was their deliverer.
For the Lord is full of compassion and mercy; And he forgives sins, and saves in time of affliction.
The spirit of those that fear the Lord shall live; For their hope is upon him that saves them.
I will give thanks to you, O Lord, O King, And will praise you, O God my Saviour: I do give thanks to your name:
For you were my protector and helper, And did deliver my body out of destruction, And out of the snare of a slanderous tongue, From lips that forge lies, And was my helper before those who stood by;
And did deliver me, according to the abundance of your mercy, and greatness of your name, From the gnashings of teeth ready to devour, Out of the hand of such as sought my life, Out of the manifold afflictions which I had;
They compassed me on every side, And there was none to help me. I was looking for the succour of men, And it was not.
And I remembered your mercy, O Lord, And your working which has been from everlasting, How you deliver those who wait for you, And save them out of the hand of the enemies.
For you saved me from destruction, And delivered me from the evil time: Therefore will I give thanks and praise to you, And bless the name of the Lord.
For he that brought these plagues upon you will deliver you from the hand of your enemies.
For I have trusted in the Everlasting, that he will save you; and joy is come to me from the Holy One, because of the mercy which shall soon come to you from the Everlasting your Saviour.
O Ananias, Azarias, and Misael, bless you⌃ the Lord: praise and exalt him above all forever: for he has rescued us from hell, and saved us from the hand of death: he has delivered us out of the midst of the furnace and burning flame, even out of the midst of the fire has he delivered us.
With that all the assembly cried out with a loud voice, and blessed God, who saves those who hope in him.
and all the Gentiles shall know that there is one who redeemeth and saves Israel.
And he saw that the army was strong, and he prayed and said, Blessed are you, O Saviour of Israel, who did quell the onset of the mighty man by the hand of your servant David, and did deliver the army of the Philistines into the hands of Jonathan the son of Saul, and of his armor bearer:
and he gave himself to deliver his people, and to get him an everlasting name;
How is the mighty fallen, the savior of Israel!
Forasmuch as I am returned to my kingdom, and am set on the throne of my fathers, and have gotten the dominion, and have overthrown Demetrius, and have gotten possession of our country;
who alone suppliest every need, who alone are righteous and almighty and eternal, you that save Israel out of all evil, who made the fathers your chosen, and did sanctify them:
