He built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar: from the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood; and he covered the floor of the house with cypress boards.
There was cedar on the house within, carved with buds and open flowers. All was cedar. No stone was visible.
He carved all the walls of the house around with carved figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, inside and outside.
For he fashioned the two pillars of brass, eighteen cubits high apiece; and a line of twelve cubits encircled either of them.
There were nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the capitals which were on the top of the pillars; seven for the one capital, and seven for the other capital.
He made the molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in shape. Its height was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits encircled it.
Under its brim around there were buds which encircled it for ten cubits, encircling the sea. The buds were in two rows, cast when it was cast.
It stood on twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east; and the sea was set on them above, and all their hindquarters were inward.
It was a hand width thick. Its brim was worked like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily. It held two thousand baths.
and on the panels that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and on the ledges there was a pedestal above; and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work.
On the plates of its supports, and on its panels, he engraved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, each in its space, with wreaths all around.

Then Solomon said, “Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house that I have built!
In a little while, the sky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
Hezekiah prayed before Yahweh, and said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, who sit above the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.

Mizraim became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
Pathrusim, Casluhim (where the Philistines came from), and Caphtorim.
the Jebusite, and the Amorite, the Girgashite,
the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite,
Ebal, Abimael, Sheba,
Sing to Yahweh, all the earth! Display his salvation from day to day.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Yahweh made the heavens.
Ascribe to Yahweh, you relatives of the peoples, ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength!
Tremble before him, all the earth. The world also is established that it can’t be moved.
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice! Let them say among the nations, “Yahweh reigns!”
Let the sea roar, and its fullness! Let the field exult, and all that is in it!
Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before Yahweh, for he comes to judge the earth.
Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all.
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
Yahweh our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own.
Huram continued, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who has given to David the king a wise son, endowed with discretion and understanding, who would build a house for Yahweh, and a house for his kingdom.
He made the veil of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and ornamented it with cherubim.

He set the sea on the right side of the house eastward, toward the south.
He also made the bases, and he made the basins on the bases;
one sea, and the twelve oxen under it.
The king cast them in the plain of the Jordan, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredah.
Then Solomon said, “Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
Thus they returned us answer, saying, “We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and are building the house that was built these many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.
You are Yahweh, even you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their army, the earth and all things that are on it, the seas and all that is in them, and you preserve them all. The army of heaven worships you.
You are Yahweh, the God who chose Abram, brought him out of Ur of the Chaldees, gave him the name of Abraham,
that there came a messenger to Job, and said, “The oxen were plowing, and the donkeys feeding beside them,
He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh’s name.”
Let them curse it who curse the day, who are ready to rouse up leviathan.
‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?
For affliction doesn’t come out of the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
who does great things that can’t be fathomed, marvelous things without number;
who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;
For you shall be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field shall be at peace with you.
Which are black by reason of the ice, in which the snow hides itself.
What is man, that you should magnify him, that you should set your mind on him,
“Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water?
He is green before the sun. His shoots go out along his garden.
Behold, this is the joy of his way: out of the earth, others shall spring.
He removes the mountains, and they don’t know it, when he overturns them in his anger.
He shakes the earth out of its place. Its pillars tremble.
He commands the sun, and it doesn’t rise, and seals up the stars.
He alone stretches out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea.
He makes the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the rooms of the south.
He does great things past finding out; yes, marvelous things without number.
“‘Your hands have framed me and fashioned me altogether, yet you destroy me.
Remember, I beg you, that you have fashioned me as clay. Will you bring me into dust again?
Haven’t you poured me out like milk, and curdled me like cheese?
You have clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.
Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
“But ask the animals, now, and they shall teach you; the birds of the sky, and they shall tell you.
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you. The fish of the sea shall declare to you.
Who doesn’t know that in all these, Yahweh’s hand has done this,
in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?
Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, he sends them out, and they overturn the earth.
You would call, and I would answer you. You would have a desire to the work of your hands.
The waters wear the stones. The torrents of it wash away the dust of the earth. So you destroy the hope of man.
“Are you the first man who was born? Or were you brought out before the hills?
Don’t you know this from old time, since man was placed on earth,
The heavens shall reveal his iniquity. The earth shall rise up against him.
“Isn’t God in the heights of heaven? See the height of the stars, how high they are!
Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise?
Behold, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in his sight;
“The departed spirits tremble, those beneath the waters and all that live in them.
He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing.
He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not burst under them.
He encloses the face of his throne, and spreads his cloud on it.
He has described a boundary on the surface of the waters, and to the confines of light and darkness.
The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his rebuke.
He stirs up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he strikes through Rahab.
By his Spirit the heavens are garnished. His hand has pierced the swift serpent.
Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways. How small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”
“Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine.
Iron is taken out of the earth, and copper is smelted out of the ore.
Man sets an end to darkness, and searches out, to the furthest bound, the stones of obscurity and of thick darkness.
